About BBI
Community Investment Fund
The Black Business Community Investment Fund Limited (BBCIFL or the Fund) was created in 2001 to provide an investment opportunity within Nova Scotia and manage investment funds. This Fund is a pool of capital raised in the community through the sale of shares. The capital raised is invested as equity and subordinated debt in new or existing Black-owned businesses.
Ultimately, this Fund should increase the level of economic activity and prosperity within the Nova Scotia Black-owned business community.
Over the past five years, the Black Business Initiative (BBI) has received generous support from several investors. After five share offerings, our portfolio value is $440,000 and our total shareholder base currently stands at 80 people.
